The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah announced on Wednesday that 14 deaths, 1,084 new cases of the coronavirus and 2,043 recoveries were recorded during the past 24 hours.

Mai Al-Kailah, the Palestinian Minister of Health, confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that 5 deaths and 289 infections were recorded in the West Bank while 9 deaths and 795 new cases were recorded in the Gaza Strip.

Kailah said that the recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 91.1 percent while the rate of active infections reached 6.8 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections. 

She pointed out that there are 145 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 40 who have been placed on ventilators.

Regarding the vaccination campaign, the minister noted that the total number of people who received the corona vaccine in the West Bank and Gaza Strip reached 253,937 including 172,916 who received the two doses of the vaccine.
