200 Palestinian facilities threatened with demolition in Jerusalem

Israeli authorities on Sunday distributed evacuation and demolition notices targeting 200 Palestinian commercial and industrial facilities in Wadi al-Joz neighborhood in Occupied Jerusalem.

Head of the Jerusalem Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kamal Obeidat said that Israel’s Jerusalem Municipality, with the approval of the Planning and Building Committee, issued demolition orders against 200 different facilities.

The threatened facilities are located in the industrial area of Wadi al-Joz, which is, according to Obeidat, one of the liveliest areas in Occupied Jerusalem.

Obeidat said that the Israeli “racist move” is aimed at taking over the only Palestinian-owned industrial area in Jerusalem in order to further Judaize the city and alter its identity.

He called on the Palestinian residents of Jerusalem to unite and confront this Israeli attack.
