40,000 Palestinians perform Friday prayer at Aqsa Mosque

Thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed Friday prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem amid tight restrictions on the city

About 40,000 Palestinians from Jerusalem, the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories, and the West Bank came to al-Aqsa to perform Friday prayer, while the Israeli police imposed a closure on parts of the Old City for the Passover holiday.

Local residents said that ahead of the prayer the Israeli police blocked several roads leading to the Old City of Jerusalem and hindered the movement of Palestinian citizens.
