Our hearts are remembering that day - March 30, 1976 - and are also with our Palestinian brothers

“The Land Day” arrives this year and our Palestinian people still under occupation continue to confiscate land for settlement construction, more than 5,000 political prisoners still in prisons, 1.5 million in Gaza under 13 years of criminal blockade, men, women and children daily are held for hours at Israeli checkpoints. They want to submit us to unviable Plans, without consulting the Palestinians, like the Plan of the Century unilaterally drawn up by Trump's US government. Even today, they insist on the Judaism of Jerusalem and the whole of Palestine, preventing rights, self-determination, the return of refugees and the construction of a free, independent and sovereign Palestinian State.

 

This scenario, where many international leaders and governments are complicit, was not enough, the Coronavirus Pandemic comes. Palestine faces two dangers: that perpetrated by the Zionist occupation and the threat of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

 

The life of the Palestinian people is a life of resistance, from waking up to going to bed, there are struggles in defense of their territory from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River, their traditions, their ancient culture, their capital Jerusalem, for freedom finally, for a life with rights, justice and peace! And currently, for health and survival in the face of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Another struggle to be fought, since the health system and hospitals in Palestine are subjected to the violence of the Zionist State of Israel.

 

In face of the COVID-19 Pandemic, actions are needed to prevent proliferation, so we demand for all Palestinian cities, villages and refugee camps:

 

- Permission to circulate doctors and health teams (Red Crescent, national and international health organizations);

 

- Access to all hygiene materials, soap, alcohol gel, gloves, masks and medicines; - Immediate release of Palestinian political prisoners, as prisons are unhealthy. -Immediate end of the blockade in Gaza! Wide access to food, medicine, assistance and health teams.

 

Despite all the terror, the Palestinians resist armed with stones and courage. They face tanks, daily violence and denounce it. Well before 1948, they already proved that they are capable of overcoming all adversities, of fighting against Zionism and imperialism, preserving their identity and the continuity of the struggle for Free Palestine!

 

And they are not alone! We are with them! World solidarities support the Palestinian Cause! Thousands of people recognize the right of the Palestinian people to live free in their land! Global solidarity forms the fundamental pillar of support and trust that declares the sure victory of the palestinian people!

 

On March 30, 1976, it was a general strike against the confiscation of land in all occupied Palestinian territory in 1948, which mobilized our people to defend their rights. From this clash, six Palestinians were killed, thousands injured and hundreds arrested. In 2020, our mobilization and commitment is to win COVID-19! With our people united and with international solidarity we can win this and all struggles! For our struggle has always been, and always will be, the defense of life!
