Abu Marzouk: The Palestinian people are more adherent to their land

Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk said that the Palestinian people are more adherent to their land, identity and holy sites despite the Israeli attempts to take them away, expressing confidence that the Israeli occupation will not live forever.

“Those strangers — who have enacted laws to arrest, kill and expel our people, and falsified facts to steal the land from its owners — will leave our land, while our people will stay and their roots will get deeper,” Abu Marzouk said in an interview conducted by the Palestinian Information Center (PIC).

“The Palestinian people are more attached to their identity and their land … because it is the land of prophets and believers and the land of Jihad and holy sites,” the Hamas official underlined in remarks on the 44th anniversary of Land Day.

“The Zionists want to take this land from us and they have come from everywhere, claiming they are the landowners and embarking on killing, arresting and expelling our people,” he added.

Abu Marzouk described the Land Day as an occasion to remember all the martyrs and to reassert the Palestinian people’s adherence to their land and their rejection of any offer to give it up or bargain over it.

He stressed that his Movement would remain faithful to its people and their rights, applauding the Palestinian people for their steadfastness on their land and in all areas of their existence.

“All the attempts to liquidate the [Palestinian] cause will not succeed and we will inevitably return to Jaffa, Acre, Haifa, Nazareth, Yibna and Beisan, the Negev and all areas of Palestine. We will never give up one inch of our land and holy sites,” he said.
