A Palestinian prisoner is prevented of meeting his family

Omar Kharwat, 49, from Hebron, has been detained in Hasharon prisoner for a month among miserable conditions of detention, according to Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs Commission.

The commission stated that the administration of Hasharon prison deliberately violates the rights of Kharwat and mistreats him by having his hands and feet tied every time he is moved to the isolation room, mentioning that it only allows him to go outside for an hour all along the day.

Kharwat has been prevented of contacting or meeting his relatives since past March.

The court did not hold any sessions for Kharwat to identify the reasons led to isolating him.

He was isolated first in Ramon prison, Gilboa prison, Aylon, and then in Majdo prison. Afterwards, Israeli authorities ordered to end his isolation which lasted for 8 months.

They moved him to Shata to re-isolate him for trivial, fake arguments. 40 days after the end of his isolation, they detained him in Hasharon.

Omar Kharwat has been arrest since 2002, and sentenced to life imprisonment.
