Father Musallam: Christians intimidated not to run in elections
Father Manuel Musallam, a noted Palestinian priest and head of the World Popular Organization for Jerusalem Justice and Peace, confirmed on Tuesday that several Christian candidates were subjected to intimidation to prevent them from participating in the elections.
Musallam said during press statements that there is terrible and misleading propaganda to defame Hamas by suspicious media.
The Christian community in the West Bank in particular were pressured not to join Hamas list of nominees, he added.
Hamas submitted on Monday its list for the 2021 Palestinian Legislative Council elections at the headquarters of the Central Elections Commission under the slogan “Jerusalem unites us.”
