Former lawmaker, political leader sentenced to two years in prison after serving 17 months in administrative detention
An Israeli military court today sentenced former lawmaker and political leader Khaleda Jarrar to two years in prison and 12 months suspended for five years and fined her around $1200.
Jarrar, 58, a senior leader in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), was detained at the end of October 2019 for her role in the PFLP and held in administrative detention since then without charge or trial and based on secret evidence not available for even her lawyer.
Jarrar was detained in 2015 and 2017 and held in administrative detention before her re-detention in October 2019.
