Hamas: Our people’s struggle will continue until uprooting settlements
The Hamas Movement has said that Israel’s escalation of its settlement activity in the West Bank and Jerusalem necessitates a decision by the Palestinian Authority to end its security cooperation with the occupation state
In a press release on Wednesday, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem stressed the need for all-out resistance activities in the occupied Palestinian territories to curb Israel’s settlement plans.
Qasem said that Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent threat to expand settlements in the West Bank underscored the magnitude of the challenge facing the Palestinian cause.
“Such persistent Zionist positions stress the importance of what the Palestinian political forces call for about the need for the Palestinian Authority to stop its security coordination with the occupation army in the West Bank and its persecution of the resistance there,” the spokesman underlined.
“Our people will continue their uprising and struggle until the settlements are uprooted from the entire Palestinian land as they had done with the settlements in the Gaza Strip in 2005,” he said.
He affirmed that Netanyahu’s efforts to obtain recognition from some countries for his expansionist policy in the Palestinian occupied territories would never change historical facts or confer legitimacy on the Israeli occupation and its aggression against the Palestinian people.
