Hamas parliamentary delegation meets the President of Lebanon

The Hamas parliamentary delegation met with the President of Lebanon Michel Aoun in Beirut and briefed him on the current developments of the Palestinian issue

The participating Hamas officials were Dr. Mahmoud al-Zahhar, Dr. Marwan Abu Ras, Musheer al-Masri, Muhammad Faraj al-Ghul, Usama Hamdan, and the Hamas representative in Lebanon Ali Baraka.

Dr. Zahhar highlighted the challenges facing the Palestinian issue including the ‘Deal of the Century’ and judaization of Jerusalem and the holy places there.

The senior Hamas leader mentioned that the people of Gaza have been enduring sever suffering and agony due to the tight blockade imposed by the Israel occupation since 2006. He also highlighted the Israeli violations, arrests, and illegal settlements in the West Bank.

The President of Lebanon Michel Aoun, in turn, welcomed the Hamas delegation and reiterated the constant supportive stance of Lebanon towards the Palestinians cause.

“At whatever Arab, European, or diplomatic event I attend, I highlight the issue of Palestine and Jerusalem… we support you with our free words at all international platforms”, Aoun added.

The Lebanese President said that the Arab League has to adopt serious measures to tackle the Israeli violations against the Palestinians, stressing that these days are extremely serious due to the ‘overt wave of normalisation’ with the Israeli occupation.

The Hamas parliamentary delegation has embarked upon an external tour last month to mobilize political support for the Palestine people and to tackle the US-backed Israeli attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
