Hamas values South Africa’ decision to downgrade ties with Israel
The Hamas Movement has expressed its appreciation to South Africa for its recent decision to downgrade its relations with the Israeli occupation state
“We followed with great interest and high appreciation the news conference that was held by South Africa’s foreign minister (minister of international relations and cooperation) to announce the downgrade of her country’s relations with the Israeli occupation and the withdrawal of the South African ambassador from Tel Aviv,” Hamas stated in a press release on Tuesday.
Hamas lauded such decision as “an advanced step” by South Arica, saying it would contribute to pressuring the Israeli occupation to backtrack on its aggressive and racist policies and measures and respond to the Palestinian people’s demands for freedom and independence.
