The Hamas Movement has said that the remarks made on Tuesday by US secretary of state Antony Blinken about Jerusalem confirm the futility of wagering on the successive administrations in Washington.

“The remarks made by Antony Blinken, the secretary of state of US president Joe Biden’s administration, about his recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the occupation state and the retention of his country’s embassy in the city are obviously against international law and resolutions,” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said in a press release on Wednesday.

“Such remarks deny our people’s inalienable rights to their land and holy sites and constitute a blatant disregard for the entire Arab world at the official and popular levels,” spokesman Qasem stressed.

“The remarks reassert the futility of wagering on the successive US administrations to stand by our Palestinian people’s rights and highlight the need to wager on our people’s ability to extract their rights through a unified struggle strategy and a rearranged Palestinian house,” he added.
