Hamas welcomes WHO’s vote against Israeli draft resolution

Israeli Occupation has proposed to abolish WHO's custody of health conditions in occupied Palestinian territories.

Member of Hamas’ International Relations Office Dr Basem Naim stated the following:

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas welcomes the World Health Organization (WHO)’s decision against an Israeli draft resolution to abolish the article relating to the organisation’s custody of health conditions in the occupied Palestinian and Arab territories.

We stress that the Israeli occupation is carrying out such attempts to evade its responsibility as an occupying power, and such attempts should not be given any chance of success and should be met by absolute rejection.

We call for exerting all forms of pressure necessary to compel the Israeli occupation to assume its duty under the International Law towards the Palestinian people and their needs, especially humanitarian ones such as health and education.

The international community also should place pressure on the Israeli authorities to end their occupation of the Palestinian and Arab territories; otherwise, deterrent sanctions should be imposed on it until the Palestinian aspirations for freedom and independence are achieved.
