Haneyya: We will never forsake our prisoners in Israeli and Arab jails
Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has affirmed that his Movement will never abandon the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and some Arab countries.
This came during two phone calls the Hamas leader had with Maan Bashour, head of the Arab International Forum for Palestinian Justice, and Khaled al-Sufyani, general coordinator of the National Islamic Conference, according to a statement released on Wednesday by Hamas.
Haneyya discussed with Bashour and Sufyani the latest developments regarding the Palestinian cause and the real dangers facing it as a result of the Israeli occupation and its Judaization and settlement plans in Jerusalem and other occupied Palestinian areas.
He also briefed them on the living conditions of the Palestinian people at home and abroad in the midst of the coronavirus spread as well as the issue of the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and Saudi Arabia.
The Hamas official emphasized that his Movement would never forsake the detainees in the jails of the Israeli occupation state or some Arab countries, urging popular and official organizations in the Arab world to assume their duties towards the Palestinian prisoners.
For their part, Bashour and Sufyani expressed their thanks to Haneyya for phoning them and valued Hamas’s role in resisting the occupation and its keenness on healing the rifts in the Palestinian and Arab arenas and protecting the Palestinian cause against all plots targeting it.
