Haneyya: Our people will defend Aqsa on Ramadan 28

Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has warned that Occupied Jerusalem is being exposed to real and serious threats, especially as extremist Jewish settlers intend to defile the Aqsa Mosque on Ramadan 28 (May 10).

In a virtual meeting held on Wednesday on the occasion of the International Quds Day, the Hamas leader affirmed that the Palestinian people would “never allow the Jewish settlers to rampage in Jerusalem or storm the Aqsa Mosque on Ramadan 28.”

Haneyya described Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Aqsa Mosque as a flagrant attack on the Muslim nation, and called on the Arab and Muslim peoples and their governments to voice strong positions in support of the Mosque and to back the Jerusalem people’s steadfastness in the holy city.

He also urged the Palestinians at home and abroad to rise up and say no to the Israeli occupation and its targeting of the Aqsa Mosque.

He expressed his confidence that the Israeli plans in Jerusalem would never succeed and that the Palestinian people have the ability to confront them with support from their strategic depth in the Islamic world.
