Hundreds of Gaza detainees denied family visits in Israeli jails
A small batch of Gazan families was allowed access out of the besieged Gaza Strip on Tuesday to visit their relatives held in an Israeli prison
No more than 13 Palestinians from the blockaded Gaza Strip, among them a child, headed for Eshel jail to visit nine Palestinian detainees, according to the spokeswoman for the International Red Cross Committee, Suheer Zaqout.
Over 7,000 Palestinian prisoners, including 380 from besieged Gaza, are locked up in Israeli penitentiaries, where they have been denied their basic human rights, most notably the right to family visits.
