Incursions and arrests in West Bank and Jerusalem
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched on Tuesday night and at dawn Wednesday a campaign of raids into various areas of the West Bank and several Palestinians were arrested.
In al-Khalil, IOF arrested the ex-prisoner, Hamzah Al-Alami, 27, after raiding his house and tampering with its contents in Beit Ummar town, north of the city.
Several military checkpoints were set up at the entrances of al-Khalil in Al-Hawawer area in the north and Zif in the south.
IOF soldiers stormed Beit Kahil and Dora towns without any arrests reported.
In Bethlehem, IOF arrested four Palestinian citizens after raiding and searching their families' houses.
Local sources added that clashes broke out in the Doha area of Bethlehem after IOF soldiers stormed the area and fired tear gas and sound bombs. Dozens of Palestinians suffered breathing difficulty.
In Occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli police launched an arrest campaign in Al-Issawiya village, Silwan town, and Qalandia refugee camp.
Local sources reported that the Israeli police forces stormed several houses in Al-Issawiya and arrested several young men.
In Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, the Israeli police broke into the camp and arrested two young men.
The Israeli police also arrested two Palestinians from Bir Ayoub neighborhood in Silwan town.
In Jenin, the IOF soldiers stormed the house of the prisoner Nazmi Abu Bakr in Ya’bad town and closed the prisoner's room with concrete. They were also deployed in the Al-Salama neighborhood and on the roofs of houses, and an aircraft was observed flying over the town.
In Nablus, IOF arrested the liberated prisoner, Thaer Amer, after raiding his home in Kafr Qalil town.
The occupation intelligence agency summoned on Wednesday Muhammad Samih Abu Jaber from Balata refugee camp for an interview at Hawara camp, south of the city.
