The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Monday morning rearrested Jerusalemite activist Nihad Zagheer, 42, immediately after he was released from Gilboa prison.

The family committee of Jerusalemite prisoners said that the IOA released Zagheer after he completed his 35-month term, but they rejailed him as he was leaving the Gilboa facility.

Zagheer was arrested on June 5, 2017 upon his return from a pilgrimage trip to Saudi Arabia.

An Israeli court sentenced him to jail and ordered him to 10,000 shekels after approving a false claim leveled by the Israeli prosecution accusing him of having a leading position in an organization called Aqsa Mosque Youth.
