IOA forces Jerusalemite to raze his own house in Beit Hanina
The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has forced a Jerusalemite citizen to demolish his own house in Beit Hanina town, northeast of Jerusalem, at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
Fawwaz Hammad told Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the Israeli municipality forced him to demolish his home, which he built 10 years ago, and to remove the rubble from his land.
Hammad said that he had built the house with his own hands and eventually destroyed it with his own hands to avoid paying more money to the Israeli municipality if its crews came to carry out the demolition measure.
For many years, he tried in vain to have the house licensed and paid 43,000 shekels in penalties.
Seven individuals from the family of Abu Hammad lived in that house, including the family of his deceased son.
