Hamas on Tuesday condemned, in the strongest terms, Israel's abduction of Palestinian journalist Lama Khater from her home at daybreak.

Political bureau member of Hamas Mousa Dudin said the abduction of Lama Khater makes part of Israeli attempts to terrorize Palestinian journalists.

 

“This is a serious escalation against Palestinian women in the West Bank. In less than one month and a half, four Palestinian women from al-Khalil endured similar fates”, said Dudin.

 

“Such an escalation will never succeed to silence anti-occupation voices across the occupied Palestinian territories; they are rather the fuel that will further ignite the spark of resistance on our usurped land”, he added.

 

Dudin said live footages kept record of the moments when Lama Khater bid farewell to her child, in moments that disclose the fallouts of Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.

 

Hamas’s media chief overseas, Rafat Merra, also slammed the abduction of Khater, dubbing it another Israeli crime against Palestinian intellectuals who continue to speak up for Palestinian rights and identity.

 

He referred to several other cases when Palestinian journalists and correspondents were killed, media institutions raided, and TV channels shut down as other instances of Israel’s unabated terrorism against the Palestinians.
