Israel settlers attack Palestinian students in Hebron

Israeli settlers reportedly attacked Palestinian students as they were walking home from school in the southern occupied West Bank city of Hebron yesterday, according to the official Palestinian Authority (PA)-owned Wafa news agency.
Wafa reported that Israeli settlers physically attacked students and “used foul language against them” as they were leaving school in the Al-Salaymeh neighbourhood in the Old City of Hebron. No injuries were reported.
Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
Palestinian activists and rights groups have long accused Israel of fostering a “culture of impunity” for Israeli settlers and soldiers committing violent acts against Palestinians.
Israeli authorities served indictments in only 8.2 per cent of cases of Israeli settlers committing anti-Palestinian crimes in the West Bank in the past three years, according to Israeli NGO Yesh Din.
