Israeli Jewish settlers attack, injure 15 Palestinians, including infant in Al-Khalil

Witnesses said Jewish settlers attacked Palestinians in the Old City of Al-Khalil while the Israeli soldiers protecting them did not stop the violence or harassment.

More than 15 Palestinians were wounded as Jewish Israeli settlers attacked their homes with rocks during their raid of Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in occupied West Bank city of Al-Khalil (Hebron).

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that five Palestinians were treated for injuries, including an 18-month old baby.

Family of the baby said he was hit in the head by a rock that came crashing through the window of his home in Tel Rumeida neighborhood.

Emad Abu Shamsiyeh said that his infant grandson was hospitalised, but was in stable condition.

“I heard settlers approaching the house,” he said; “therefore, I locked the house fearing they would have raided it.”

“Then,” he said, “I heard the boy screaming and saw he was injured in the head.”

He also said: “We have been under attack by the Israeli Jewish settlers and Israeli soldiers since Friday.”

Witnesses said Jewish settlers also attacked Palestinian businesses in the Old City of Al-Khalil while the Israeli occupation forces protecting them did not intervene to stop the violence or harassment.
