Israeli police set up road barriers, obstruct traffic in Silwan
The Israeli occupation police on Thursday morning set up a number of road barriers at the entrances to some neighborhoods of Silwan district, south of the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
According to local sources, the police road barriers caused a heavy build-up of traffic inside Silwan, especially in the neighborhoods of Ein a-Luza, Wadi Hilweh, and Wadi al-Rababa.
Israeli police forces at those makeshift checkpoints embarked on checking the IDs of local residents, searching vehicles, issuing financial penalties against drivers.
