Israeli police nab two Aqsa guards

The Israeli occupation police on Thursday morning kidnaped two Aqsa Mosque guards as they were doing their daily job at the Islamic holy site.

According to local sources, police officers rounded up Arafat Najeeb and Khalil al-Tarhouni, who work as guards at the Aqsa Mosque, and hauled them to the Qishla police station in the holy city.

The Israeli occupation police have escalated their repressive measures against Aqsa employees and Jerusalemite citizens in recent weeks, especially through carrying out arrests and issuing Aqsa entry bans.

For over two weeks, the Israeli police have also been preventing the Jerusalemite citizens who live in areas near the Old City and the Palestinians who live in Israel (the 1948 occupied lands) from reaching the Aqsa Mosque for daily prayers, while allowing Jewish to come from different places outside the holy city to tour the Mosque and defile its courtyards on a daily basis.
