Jerusalemite teacher and activist Khadija Khuwais has warned that Jewish settlers started to treat the eastern area of the Aqsa Mosque in a way similar to what they had been doing decades ago at the western wall.

“What is happening now in the eastern area [of the Mosque] is similar to what the settlers were doing at the Buraq Wall (western wall) 100 years ago when they were sitting and crying there and bringing their books and rolled papers near the wall,” Khuwais said in press remarks.

She also said the sequence of events at the Aqsa Mosque reflected Israel intents to impose its control over its eastern area and claim it as a place belonging to Jews.
