Palestinian inmates enter 2nd day of hunger strike in Israeli jails
Leaders of the Palestinian Captive Movement and other prisoners entered the second day of their open-ended hunger strike which they started on Monday evening after they felt that Israeli jailers were not serious about responding to their demands
According to the Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, the Israeli prison service started on Tuesday to transfer hunger-striking prisoners from the Negev and Ramon jails to isolation cells and other prisons.
Scores of prisoners joined today the mass hunger strike dubbed “Karama (dignity) 2” to demand their rights and an end to violations.
Unless the IPS responds to the demands tabled by leaders of the Captive Movement, more prisoners will participate in the hunger strike on April 17.
In this regard, there are concerted efforts being made by the concerned parties to prevent the situation from escalating in Israeli jails, according to Asra Media Center.
