Palestinian teenager prisoner shot by Israeli soldiers in danger

Ramallah (QNN)- 16-year-old Muhammad Hasanein, who was shot by Israeli soldiers then arrested, had a surgery on Thursday at the Israeli Shaare Zedek Medical Center to treat his wounded leg

Muhammad’s father, Imad Hasanein, told QNN that his son suffers from very serious wounds that could kill him. He was shot on 10th May with explosive bullets, which caused blood vessels, including the femoral artery, and muscles in his leg to be lacerated.

Muhammad had three surgeries until now, however the doctors refuse to tell his father if they were successful or not.

Muhammad was shot by Israeli soldiers when they ambushed him in occupied Bireh while he was heading to a park in the city, in which he used to work, Imad said.

The soldiers started shooting at him without any reason, then they arrested him to be evacuated to the hospital, he added.

Muhammad was moved out of the ICU on Thursday as soon as he woke up from a comma. Three soldiers remain at his room the whole time despite of his very serious condition.

Imad said that for the first time he was allowed on Thursday to reach the hospital to ask about the condition of his son. Yet, he was prevented from seeing or talking to his son.

Imad stressed that his son’s psychological situation is very difficult, as he lost the ability to speak. Imad also called on local and international humanitarian organisations to take an action, especially that his son hasn’t been visited by any lawyer so far and his family doesn’t know any details about his condition.
