Palestinian child injured by settlers in Ramallah

Three-year-old Palestinian child, Jad Alaa Sawafta, was wounded on Thursday evening after a group of Jewish settlers attacked his father’s vehicle near the entrance to Burqa village, northeast of Ramallah.

The child’s father said that the settlers attacked his vehicle while he was returning from Ramallah to Tubas. Settlers broke the windows of his vehicle.

This caused the injury of his child in his face. He was taken to a hospital in Ramallah for treatment and his condition is stable.

On Thursday evening, settlers carried out widespread attacks under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces on Palestinian vehicles in the West Bank.

The Israeli Yesh Din organization monitored at least 44 violent attacks by settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank in one month.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, the settlers’ attacks included attacking Palestinians, injuring them and damaging their property.

In 31 of the cases detected, settlers closed major intersections along the main settlement Street 60 in the West Bank and threw stones at Palestinian cars. Nine Palestinians were injured, including one child, according to Yesh Din.

In ten other cases, settlers stormed Palestinian villages, threw stones at residents and homes and burned cars.

In three cases, groups of armed settlers attacked Palestinian farmers while they were working on their land.
