Politician tells Muslims to replace ‘God is Great’ with ‘Israel is great’ in prayers

The "Muezzin Bill", proposed by Likud MK Yoav Kisch, would ban all public places of worship from using speaker systems between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m the next day

Likud Knesset member Yoav Kisch yesterday called on Muslims to say “Israel is great” in their prayers instead of “God is Great”.

The chairman of the Internal Affairs and Environment Committee in the Knesset was addressing the parliamentary session on the revocation of residency status of Palestinians living in occupied East Jerusalem.

During his speech he said: “I know that when you pray you say ‘God is Great’, you should say ‘Israel is great’.”

Member of the Knesset for the Joint List, Ahmad Tibi, responded saying: “God is greater than you and Israel.”

While other MKs repeated: “God is Great.”
