Settlers defile Al-Aqsa courtyards

Dozens of Jewish settlers broke into the courtyards of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Monday morning.

Local sources said that about 50 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in groups, through the Magharabi Gate, under the protection of the Israeli police.

The settlers carried out tours and performed provocative rituals in the Mosque before leaving through Bab Al-Silsila.

The occupation police are working to secure settlers’ incursions by suppressing Muslim worshipers in the Mosque.

For his part, Sheikh Ekremah Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the head of the Supreme Islamic Authority, called on Jerusalemites to confront the Israeli policy and its systematic brutality aimed at keeping the Muslims away from Al-Aqsa.

Sabri explained in a press statement that the frequency of the incursions by the occupation police and settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque has increased.

“They want to cover up their defeat in Gaza and to take revenge on the Jerusalemites who sparked the recent events”, he noted.

He said that no one has the right to deport anyone from his place of worship and no one dares to do so except the Israeli occupation authority that violates all international norms and laws.
