Thousands take part in dawn prayer protests in Jerusalem, West Bank
Thousands of Palestinians on Friday attended dawn prayers in different mosques in Jerusalem and the West Bank, taking part in the Great Fajr Campaign to defend al-Aqsa Mosque and protest settlement.
Despite Israeli restrictions and checkpoints, hundreds of Palestinians managed to attend the dawn prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem.
Following the prayer, Israeli police forces assaulted the worshipers and dispersed them by force.
Local sources said that the Israeli police attacked a Palestinian girl at Bab al-Asbat area near al-Aqsa Mosque for distributing chocolate to the worshipers.
Meanwhile in the West Bank, thousands of Palestinians, including entire families, performed dawn prayers in over 200 mosques.
The worshipers rallied outside the mosques following the prayers and chanted slogans in which they vowed to protect al-Aqsa Mosque at all costs.
Young volunteers distributed sweets and hot drinks to the worshipers, especially children, and many citizens volunteered to transport worshipers to mosques.
