The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said that cancer-stricken detainee who has tested positive for coronavirus Kamal Abu Wa’ar is held at Israel’s Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in serious condition.

The PPS said that no enough details are available about Abu Wa’ar’s health condition.

All that the Israel Prison Service revealed is that he had intubation and that he will remain asleep for several days under the influence of medications, it added.

The PPS called on concerned authorities, particularly the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and human rights organizations to immediately intervene to save Abu Wa’ar’s life.

It also held the Israel Prison Service responsible for the fate of Abu Wa’ar and other sick Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.
