With five new deaths from coronavirus, toll among diaspora Palestinians reaches 127

Four members of the Palestinian community in Saudi Arabia and one in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of deaths among diaspora Palestinians to 127, said the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

It said Hani Ahmad Taha, 76, Anwar Shihadeh Abu Daqqa, 56, Hamdan Ali Oweida, 55, and Zuhair Subhi Dahlan, 62, have died in Saudi Arabia, raising the death toll among the Palestinian community in the kingdom to 21. At the same time, the number of positive cases stood at 41 without any new cases recorded today and seven recoveries.

In the UAE, Mariam Ayyad Abu Taha, a teacher since 1974, has died from coronavirus, said the Ministry, bringing the number of deaths in that Gulf state to 15 and 57 positive cases, including nine recoveries.

The highest number of deaths from corona among diaspora Palestinians remained in the United States with 57 confirmed fatalities and 821 positive cases, including 348 recoveries.
